You can't force it....

I finally finished up my new Christmas wreath so yesterday I took it to my favourite location to take photographs. It's a little collection of three old sheds sitting side-by-side and I like to hang the wreath on the one remaining door. It's a great rustic backdrop. It's a little hard to get to - in the summer there are monster thistles and in the winter I have to plow through dead monster thistles and a pile of snow.

It was freezing cold and after about half an hour my fingertips were hurting so bad that I had to pack up and get back to my car. But before I did, I got out my iPod, turned around, and snapped a photo of this little grey shed.

As I drove home, I knew in my heart that my wreath shots were not going to be any good. Not my fault - just a contrast issue. I was going to have to come up with a better idea for a backdrop. Into the trash went my morning's work. There's no use forcing something when you know it is just not happenin'.

But I did love this shot of the little grey shed. Oh my, I love #snapseed.

  5. I am lovin that cute shed, but feeling bad that your plans didn't work they way you wanted. That is frustrating to have a mornings work in the trash. But I am sure you will come up with a beautiful way to display your new wreath....can't wait.

  7. It can be frustrating when what you had in mind doesn't work. Makes you all the more grateful for those times when ideas or opportunities come unexpectedly and give good results.

  11. Well it looks to me like the real reason that you were out in the cold was that wonderful little shot you got of this shed. It is perfection, and you will still have another reason to go out and find the perfect spot for your wreath. So lucky to have that wonderful snow!!
