World Bird Wednesday at The Pine River Review
I have such wonderful memories of cedar waxwings. I think they must have visited our yard when my family lived in town (before I turned 9)...after we moved to the farm, we might see them in our mountain ash tree once a year. I've kept one ugly juniper shrub in our present backyard, because the waxwings used to come each year. I haven't seen any for a long time, now. I love the sound they make. Your photos are absolutely terrific! You've captured their color..and their "character" so well!
ReplyDeletePiękne ptaki i cudowne zdjęcia. Oj, oj , a czy ten przedostatni nie za dużo naraz chce zjeść :-). Pozdrawiam
ReplyDeleteso flippin' gorgeous! i believe these are cedars.
ReplyDeleteThe Bohemian Waxwing has rusty (not white) under tail coverts. I believe, therefore, they are Bohemian, not Cedar Waxwings.
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice series of photographs too.
Oh my what beautiful birds and stunning photos! These should be greeting cards!
ReplyDeleteOh wonderful. I have never seen a waxwing before, what terrific captures.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen this bird before- with your fourth shot you've excelled in capturing their beauty that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteI say these are beautiful!!! Sorry I'm no birder, but I do enjoy their song and coloration :) Not an easy subject to capture, but you've done them justice, and then some!
ReplyDeleteHappy week to you. Anna

Gorgeous shots! I love these birds so much - they sound and look so beautiful! I'm going to say these are Bohemian Waxwings because the colour under their tails is rust coloured, not white like the Cedar Waxwings. This is very lucky because the Bohemian Waxwings just pass through our area!
ReplyDeleteJo
very beautiful birds! I felt as if I were looking them directly.
ReplyDeleteThose are gorgeous photos you captured! You are so lucky to have a view like that.

ReplyDeleteOh my...they are just so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see them in person.
Great captures.
Bohemian Waxwings!! Check the wing colours the Cedars are less flamboyant. You're lucky to have them; once the berries are gone they're gone. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteLovely imaqes of your beautiful Waxwings... fingers crossed they turn up here in the UK again this winter..
ReplyDeleteThey are Bohemian Waxwings and you captured absolutely gorgeous shots of them. I am stunned by their beauty.

ReplyDeleteFantastic collection of photos here, a wonderful display. Waxwings are as difficult to photograph as they are beautiful to behold. As you say, they are a visitation. Thank you for sharing!

Oh there beautiful. I use to get Cedar Waxwings on our ornamental pear tree. But now the pear tree is gone and so are those lovely birds.
ReplyDeleteI just might have to plant another ornamental pear tree.
Thanks so much for sharing. The birds are lovely and your photography does them a great justice.
Great photos of beautiful birds - whatever they are called!
ReplyDeleteOh what beautiful birds gorging on berries and looking their best on the frosted bird house. Absolutely wonderful captures!
ReplyDeleteColorful and sleek is right. I have yet to photograph one. Come to think of it, I have yet to see one! Very nice.

ReplyDeleteI love these birds -- but they do not come around our area at all.
