Tuesday, Tuesday, can't trust that day . . .

Whenever there's a long weekend I always forget what day it is - Tuesday morning seems like Monday morning . . . you can tell I don't work Mon-Fri, or have children starting school this week.

So now I have to get twice as much done today and here I am playing with textures.

This photo makes me feel peaceful. It's simple and uncluttered. I love the soft colours, the late summer light coming in the dining room window, and my favourite antique duck that makes it's way into most of my seasonal decorating. But before I can really get into my autumn decorating, I have other things to do.

We watched an episode of "Hoarders" on the weekend. I tell you, that show strikes fear in my heart. So I've started a pile of stuff that's destined for Good Will this week. Clothes, decorations that I've outgrown, household gadgets - all going to be gone by Tuesday night (or is that Wednesday night)?

I also need to organize my craft room (horrors). It's a dark little room that I have been avoiding like the plague. But it's time . . . my stuff has been sitting in there in boxes since early spring.

Ugh.

  1. The texture is perfect for that photo.

I know what you mean about clearing things out. We need to do the same thing here.

    Good luck....to both of us.

  5. I just did a bit of clean up in the craft room this morning, and even a small sewing project that has been there since spring. It is actually raining today, lovely steady rain that we really need.

  7. Pretty little vignette, love it. I think I need to watch Hoarders, maybe it would get me moving to get rid of stuff around here. Oh my, organizing my craftroom would be a huge undertaking, not up to that just yet.

  10. Barb...I haven't worked in my craft (aka CRAP) room for more than a year! Today, I actually transferred wooden and clear stamps from a unit with colorful plastic drawers that wouldn't stay on the tracks to a great wooden-drawer unit! That is only the beginning. I have another wooden unit that's has twice as many drawers but cleaning out the other plastic one is going to take more time and effort. ;-) Your image IS peaceful; I could use some peaceful.

  11. What a lovely photo...I can see why you love it so much! :)

I agree about that Hoarders show...watching it is horrifying. I find it so disturbing that I've only watched it a couple of times. It always motivates me to stay on top of our clutter! *shudder*
