Texture Tuesday - The Outdoors Edition

hover your cursor over image to see original

Oh my goodness! I had fun doing this! Our mission for Texture Tuesday is to use any image that was shot outdoors (hmmmm, what will I do . . . I only have five thousand to choose from . . .)

I finally settled on these lovely little wild prairie coneflowers that I photographed while on a road trip to Saskatchewan last summer. It was a hot day and the sun was baking the soil around them. It looked so dry and hard I wondered how anything could grow there. I thought to myself how tough these flowers must be - certainly tougher than they looked (something like a Saskatchewanite) and aren't they pretty?

and I have finally learned how to do the 'mouseover'!! ta da!! So hover your mouse over the photo to see the 'before' photo.

I used all sorts of editing but the texture I used here is 'ToBe' (2 layers) by Kim Klassen

  5. Fabulous!!! And I love that the texture is obvious...so many times, I feel that Kim's textures were intended to be almost-invisible. This is one terrific image, to begin with....and a terrific use of texture. (I think your new profile pic is wonderful, too.)

  15. What an incredible transformation. O how I do wish you would share the recipe! I've tried investigating the mouseover, but haven't quite found the right code yet. Great job! This is absolutely gorgeous!

  16. Hi Cherie! Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m so sorry, but I can’t share the recipe because it was included in the ‘Behind the Scenes’ class taught by Kim and Xanthe. I know it is going to be running again soon so check out Kim’s site for more information. It really is a class that you don’t want to miss!
