I can sew a straight line . . .

I've been busily sewing drapes for our patio doors at our new place. Luckily I can sew a straight line (with my 38-year old Kenmore sewing machine).

It never misses a beat.

  4. My Kenmore was replaced last year with a new one. It had a few issues that couldn't be resolved ... the feed dogs wouldn't move, the back switch broke, and something else. It couldn't be repaired (after travelling back and forth across the ocean twice) so I bought a new model that does just about all the same things but no cams to insert, just turn the dial. I miss my old machine.:(

  6. Beautiful! I miss sewing sometimes, there's such a sense of accomplishment when you have things you've sewn hanging in your home!

  7. We are adding a "Florida room" (basically a sunroom) to our little "cottage" -- and we will need some window treatments. Sadly, I CANNOT sew a straight line or any other kind.

  12. Strong and trustworthy. I think there's a lot to be said for older machines. Love the close ups. Your fabric choice seems great, neutral and earthy enough to be timeless and pleasant.

  13. I used to have an old Singer but it drowned in a laundry mishap, and couldn't be fixed, but I love my new Toyota Quiltmaster.
    Wonderful images.

  15. I have a sewing machine just like this one Barb!!
I spent much of last summer making curtains with it.
It is a wonderful machine, and I've never once had any issues with it.
