My Kenmore was replaced last year with a new one. It had a few issues that couldn't be resolved ... the feed dogs wouldn't move, the back switch broke, and something else. It couldn't be repaired (after travelling back and forth across the ocean twice) so I bought a new model that does just about all the same things but no cams to insert, just turn the dial. I miss my old machine.:(
We are adding a "Florida room" (basically a sunroom) to our little "cottage" -- and we will need some window treatments. Sadly, I CANNOT sew a straight line or any other kind.
You posted a tutorial on a Websters Dictionary Wreath a while back & I'm going to make one w/ pages from a Rand McNally road atlas... I love maps! Very cool idea & I thank you for sharing it w/ us!!! =)
Strong and trustworthy. I think there's a lot to be said for older machines. Love the close ups. Your fabric choice seems great, neutral and earthy enough to be timeless and pleasant.
I thought I could sew a straight line but not now that I've seen this! Your work looks so professional and I really love earthy tones like the material you're using. Great close up shots, every one of them.
I have a sewing machine just like this one Barb!! I spent much of last summer making curtains with it. It is a wonderful machine, and I've never once had any issues with it.
Sending you wishes for a wonderful start to your week!
I think we might have the same sewing machines :)

ReplyDeleteI have a 100 year old Singer sewing machine handed down from family, but can't sew on it or anything modern...great pics

ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I miss sewing sometimes, there's such a sense of accomplishment when you have things you've sewn hanging in your home!

To me that looks like professional has done them. I can make my curtains but that's it.
ReplyDeleteFantastic details from your work with the machine and the material. Beautiful Macro photos.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend, Barb. Kind regards, Synnöve

ReplyDeleteI used to have an old Singer but it drowned in a laundry mishap, and couldn't be fixed, but I love my new Toyota Quiltmaster.
