This week Nancy at 'A Rural Journal' challenged us to photograph three images related to 'mail'. I have picked up mail at this mailbox for ten years but since we get most of our mail via e-post, the volume has dwindled to the point where I even forget to check for it. Today when I went there to get these shots I came home and realized that hadn't even looked in the box to see if there was anything in it!
nicely done! love the macro on the bottom of the lock!
ReplyDeletegreat shots of the old mailbox...love the macros. Can't believe you didn't check your mail. You must not subscribe to any magazines.
ReplyDeleteThe only mail I seem to get is bills :-(
ReplyDeleteGreat macros.
Love this old mailbox, Barb. The color, the rust -- it looks like it's been around awhile. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining in at SS 52 this week. So glad to see you there!
Those are awesome! Love the macro, and anything old!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots. It's sad that we don't get "real" mail any longer. I miss holding a letter in my hand.

ReplyDeletebeautiful picture, no rusty key?
Nicely done! Great macro!
ReplyDeleteNice photo story. Strange how our view of the mail box is changing. I love receiving mail in both my mailboxes - electronic and physical.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comments on my blog.
:)
Great shots, Barb. I love all the different angles.
ReplyDeleteYup, as above... really like the composition and interesting angles!
ReplyDeleteThese are truely great shots. Soon we will be seeing mailboxes only in museums.
ReplyDeleteThis series is wonderful. We've encountered several locks at the Boy and Girls Club (which I thought never closed. It reminds me of those. These would be AMAZING to illustrate a poem or story.
