Hands down my favourite shot of the week!
OK, this is hands down my favourite shot of the week. I have been trying forevah to capture a hummingbird that was not at the feeder. So yesterday when I saw two of them cavorting around this flower I thought, I will never get that shot if I don't try. So I gathered up my stuff and went and sat down on the comfy settee on our patio. I was playing around getting lots of shots of bees when lo-and-behold this hummingbird flew in for a quick sip and took off like lightning! I literally had seconds to get this! I am over the top excited (can you tell?). Anyway, my goal now is to get an even better one . . . we're never satisfied, are we?

ReplyDeleteBeautiful capture and a bonus bee as well. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteLaughing out loud here ... no, we are never satisfied! You do exactly what I do .. this early a.m. I was outside briefly (without camera) and low and behold a male hummingbird comes to the feeder. Do you think I ever see him any other time .. oh no! Do you think he came back after I went in and came back with camera and waited and waited and waited .. oh no!
ReplyDeleteI don't seem to have any luck capturing birds, maybe I need more patience. Beautifully done.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on capturing this hummingbird - they move so quickly! The light, color, and composition of this photo are all lovely.

ReplyDeleteNope, never satisfied! But please celebrate this brilliant catch. I agree, a bird in a bush is worth two at the feeder. The thing is,the speed of your reactions to get this marvelous picture bodes well for your future chances. I firmly believe each picture taken is preperation for the next. Outstanding!
ReplyDeleteI can definitely relate to your excitement about getting this shot. I've been doing the same thing the past couple days since I discovered a different setting on my camera! And I also know the feeling of thinking I need to keep trying til I get an even better pic! This is a beauty of a pic, especially with the flowers instead of a feeder.
