Bachelor Button (Centaurea)

While I love the glorious and full blooms of roses and peonies (can't wait), I'm always quite drawn to the small, delicate types. These perennial bachelor buttons are no exception. I love the details of the bud and the spidery petals of the flower. This lovely little plant is just now starting to bloom and is a welcome addition to my country cottage garden.
